AB Kauno Grūdai, one of Lithuania's largest food manufacturing companies, began construction of an instant food factory in Alytus in 2018. The €16.7 million project, spanning 4 hectares, was completed in 2019. The factory's goal was to create over 200 jobs within the next five years.

The factory was awarded the BRC (British Retail Consortium) global food safety certification. In 2024, construction began on the second factory in Alytus.
